Promotion Requirements

Academics Promotion Requirements One-half of a Carnegie Unit is earned for each single-semester course a student passes. A course must meet five times a cycle to qualify as a Carnegie Unit. The SeaCoast schedule allows students to earn up to 3.5 Carnegie Units (seven courses) per semester. Grade promotions are made only at the end of a semester.

Year Promotion Requirement:

  • Sophomore Must have earned a minimum of 5.5 Carnegie Units Must have passed 2 semesters of Algebra Must have passed 2 semesters of English 9 Must have completed 7 hours of community service.
  • Junior Must have earned a minimum of 12 Carnegie Units Must have completed 14 hours of community service.
  • Senior Must have earned a minimum of 18 Carnegie Units Must have passed 4 semesters of English (9, 10, or 11) Must have completed 21 hours of community service
